Mercedes-Benz has introduced the AMG S 63 E Performance in India, starting at Rs. 3.3 crore (ex-showroom).

This model is Mercedes’ second plug-in hybrid after the AMG GT 63 E Performance and stands as the most powerful S-Class to date.

The new Mercedes-Benz S 63 E Performance boasts a striking design. For the first time, it features the AMG-specific radiator grille with vertical slats. Other design highlights include 21-inch AMG forged wheels, unique side sill panels, trapezoidal twin tailpipes and a wide diffuser with vertical fins, a signature of the “63” models.

The Edition 1 model further enhances its look with the AMG Night Package, blacked-out exterior trim, matte-black alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and an Edition 1 branded car cover.

Inside, the cabin maintains the luxury of a typical S-Class but adds sporty elements such as AMG-specific upholstery colors, an AMG steering wheel, AMG Exclusive Nappa leather, illuminated tread plates, and carbon-fiber trim.

The MBUX infotainment system in the S 63 E Performance includes hybrid-specific displays and functions. It features a customizable instrument cluster, a central multimedia display in the center console, and an optional head-up display with AMG’s “Race” and “Supersport” styles.

Under the hood, the AMG S 63 E Performance is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine combined with a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering 791bhp and 1,430Nm of torque. It also features AMG Ride Control+, a self-leveling active air suspension system. The car further offers an electric-only range of 33km.

The vehicle offers seven AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes: Electric, Comfort, Battery Hold, Sport, Sport+, Slippery, and Individual. These modes adjust various parameters like drive and transmission response, steering, chassis damping, and sound, catering to different driving preferences from efficient to dynamic.

Besides these, it also features three-stage AMG parameter steering and standard rear-axle steering with a maximum angle of 3.0 degrees, improving both dynamics and comfort.
