The collaboration is expected to generate an annual revenue of INR 20 crore for Neuron Energy.
New Delhi: Neuron Energy, a leading manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, has partnered with Hexall Motors to supply battery packs for its pioneering L5 category vehicle featuring a double front wheel, the first of its kind in the world.

This innovative design has been patented and approved by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). As part of this partnership, Neuron Energy will supply 1000 custom-designed battery packs to Hexall Motors over the next year, starting from June 2024, the company said.

The collaboration is expected to generate an annual revenue of INR 20 crore for Neuron Energy. The supplied battery packs are 16 KWR fast charging high-speed units, specially engineered for light commercial vehicles (LCVs). Neuron Energy has tailored these battery packs to meet the unique requirements of Hexall Motors’ new vehicle, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency, the company said in a media release.

“We are thrilled to partner with Hexall Motors on this innovative project,” said Pratik Kamdar, CEO and co-founder of Neuron Energy. “Our advanced battery technology will provide the necessary power and reliability for Hexall’s new double front wheel EVs. By leveraging our innovative battery packs, this partnership paves the way for future growth and expansion in our business.”

Devesh Parekh, co-Founder of Hexall Motors, said, “For any EV vehicle company, having robust energy storage systems and battery packs is crucial, as they represent almost half the cost of the electric vehicles and are critical for overall performance. Our vehicles are very different and new in this category, with unique configurations. Therefore, we needed special battery packs with advanced Battery Management Systems (BMS), high-speed charging, and a higher range to meet the needs of our vehicles. We sought a partner who could work collaboratively with us and understand our technology. With Neuron Energy's battery packs, we found exactly that. Neuron Energy developed a product that perfectly met our requirements, making this partnership very critical for us.”

Hexall Motors' new vehicle, set to debut in the Delhi NCR region, boasts several advantages. It offers substantial cargo volume, making it the preferred choice for last-mile delivery companies, particularly for transporting electronic goods and oversized cargo. With a container depth of 8.5 feet, it stands out as one of the largest in its segment. The double front wheel design enhances stability, providing a safer and more reliable option for urban transportation, the release said.

Neuron Energy continues to lead the market in providing cutting-edge battery solutions, being the only player to offer battery packs for front double wheel vehicles, the release added.
