Global icon Rihanna made a sparkling entrance in Los Angeles. The ‘Shines Bright Like a Diamond’ hitmaker, who recently performed for Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding festivities in March 2024 in India, celebrated Indian craftsmanship at the launch of Fenty Hair in Los Angeles. Looks like the diva couldn’t have enough of India’s magic.

Exuding fierce and vibrant energy, Rihanna’s style quotient for the evening featured something sparkling, something Indian. Rihanna upped her opulent style game with two jewellery pieces crafted by India’s most loved fashion brands Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi.

Known for their love of celebrating India with a contemporary approach, Rihanna was styled in jewellery pieces from India’s fashion powerhouses. Layered with perfection, Rihanna’s magnificent look featured Manish Malhotra High Jewellery featuring a ruby choker, crafted in 18k Gold. Encrusted in diamonds and custom-cut rubies, the stunning choker exuded Indian craftsmanship and artistry.

Before Rihanna, the iconic singer sensation Jennifer Lopez adorned an exquisite necklace set from Manish Malhotra jewellery. The ILENA necklace set featured a special cut 165 ct emeralds and an array of trillion-cut diamonds.

Looks like Diamonds and Indian craftsmanship are a woman’s best friends. Speaking of craftsmanship, giving Manish Malhotra’s choker company in Rihanna stunning look was Sabyasachi’s jewellery. The state-of-the-art necklace featured three drop rubellite, tourmaline and brilliant cut diamonds. Manish Malhotra Jewellery also left a comment on the Fenty Hair account that posted an image of Rihanna’s look. The comment said: @badgirlriri looking stunning in our renaissance of rubies.

Styled by Jahleel Weaver, Rihanna paired the timeless jewellery with an oversized zipper jacket, skirt and camisole in the shade of ruby, matching her one-of-a-kind jewellery. She kept her soft caramel brown curls intact and used Fenty Hair to look fly and keep her hair stylish and healthy.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Manish Malhotra have individually paved a path for Indian designers globally and seeing India shine on celebrities such as Rihanna, is one for the books.

Seeing Rihanna celebrate both these veteran designers with panache on a global platform, it’s high time we see our Bollywood beauties embrace the magic too.
