When life hits hard, an individual is bound to feel mentally drained and feel like nothing is working out for them. Oftentimes, people are unable to understand or see the signs of emotional exhaustion in a person, until it is too late for help. So, here is a list which details on all the signs or feelings, one goes through while experiencing emotional or mental drainage.

Showing Sensitive Behaviour In Situations:

Being emotionally tired could make you feel hurt or irritated even in normal or harmless situations. Their mental state becomes akin to an open wound, something as simple as squeaky sounds may prompt an extreme reaction from them. So, in such situations, one must try to stay calm.

Extreme Display of Irritation:

Anxiety and constant crying are something others can easily see in emotionally drained people. However, they usually miss their extreme signs of an irritable nature. Trivial things may become a cause for a huge outburst from them. It’s like they are unable to stay patient. This is something they do not have control over. So, they are advised to practice mindfulness regularly.

Unable To Concentrate Properly On Anything:

Emotional exhaustion makes your mind foggy which results in a lack of concentration or focus. One may find themselves struggling to remember small things or even engaging in daily tasks. This may seem scary but you can deal with such a situation by setting your daily tasks in manageable pieces while setting doable goals and remembering to take breaks.

Sleeping Or Not Sleeping All Day:

Emotional exhaustion badly messes up your sleep schedule. You either sleep all day or are unable to sleep at all. While you may experience waking up frequently throughout the night or just a desire to stay in bed all day, with no sleep. To deal with this you can try reading a book, a warm bath or a bit of exercise to relax your mind and body.

Lack of Interest In Activities:

An overlooked sign of emotional exhaustion is that a person may lose interest in activities they used to love. For this, you simply have to push yourself a little and try to reconnect with your old ways.
