Hanuman Jayanti, celebrated on Tuesday, April 23 this year, honours the birth of Lord Hanuman, believed to have occurred on a Tuesday. Devotees observe fasts and offer worship to the revered Ram devotee, seeking his blessings. Among the myriad Hanuman temples worldwide, one stands out for its reputation as a sanctuary for worry-stricken souls – the Chintaharan Temple in Rajasthan.
Situated in the Godha Gorji town of Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan, the Chintaharan Temple boasts a legacy of 80 to 70 years. Its sacred precincts draw devotees from across India, who flock here seeking solace from their troubles. Originally, worshippers began frequenting the temple out of love for Lord Hanuman, but today, it is revered as a bastion of devotion for Hanuman devotees.
Vinod Kumawat, a devout visitor, attests to his family’s longstanding connection to the temple, tracing back to his great-grandfathers who donated the land for its construction. “The temple is about 80 years old. People from outside, including Gudha Gorji town, also come here,” Vinod Kumawat shared with Local18. The temple hosts a fair during Hanuman Jayanti and New Year, drawing throngs of devotees from Godha Gorji town, Jaipur, Bangalore, Mumbai and various other states.
Describing the temple’s significance, Vinod Kumawat recounts its humble beginnings as a small shrine where worshippers would come with their wishes. Upon their fulfilment, these devotees contributed to the expansion of the temple. Inspired by its spiritual aura, Vinod’s relatives have also established another temple named Chinta Haran Balaji in Nawalgarh.
According to the Vedic calendar, Brahma Muhurat, the auspicious time for worship, falls between 04:20 am to 05:04 am on Hanuman Jayanti. The Abhijeet Muhurta, another favourable period, extends from 11:53 am to 12:46 pm. Devotees can offer prayers to Lord Hanuman between 09:03 am to 10:41 am on April 23.
With its rich history, spiritual ambience and promise of relief from worries, the Chintaharan Temple continues to serve as a beacon of faith and devotion for devotees seeking solace in the divine presence of Lord Hanuman.
