WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley has announced that she will vacate her belt. Ripley picked up an injury following an assault by her bitter rival Liv Morgan.

According to multiple reports, Ripley was injured on the April 8 episode of WWE Raw. She was involved in a backstage scuffle with Morgan.

Ripley has enjoyed a stellar WWE run in recent times after winning the title at WrestleMania 39 against Charlotte Flair. The Eradicator successfully retained it against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania XL earlier this month. The Australian professional wrestler conveyed the news about her move to vacate her belt on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw.

“This championship means the most to me in my entire life and that’s why this is so painful,” Rhea Ripley said on Raw, as per Fox Sports.

Ripley was hugged by WWE boss Paul “Triple H” Levesque while she was on her way out of the venue of Monday Night Raw.

“Absolutely no doubt in my mind that Rhea Ripley will come back tougher, stronger and more dominant than ever. Thank you, Rhea, for a reign that the entire WWE Universe can be proud of,” Triple H posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

WWE also confirmed the latest development by sharing a post on X. “Breaking news: As the result of a backstage ambush by Liv Morgan last week on WWE Raw, Rhea Ripley has been forced to vacate the Women’s World Championship,” read the post shared by WWE.

There is still no update on Rhea Ripley’s possible return to action. The Nightmare uploaded a post on social media reminding fans of her sensational championship run. “380 Days,” Rhea just wrote on X.

Ripley had made history by getting the better of Toni Storm in the Finals of the NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament to emerge the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion. Later, she defeated NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler to clinch the prized title. Ripley had come up with an impressive show to win the Women’s Royal Rumble Match held last year.
