WWE could soon add a couple of huge names from NXT to their main roster in their upcoming draft. The company will organise its draft starting from the April 26th episode of Friday Night SmackDown and will continue until April 29’s Monday Night RAW event. Days before the draft, Corey Brennan from the Fightful Select hinted at the possibility of these stars making a jump to either the Red or Blue brand in a post on X. “Fightful Select has learned that Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes are said to be ‘a lock’ for RAW or SmackDown in the WWE Draft, while several other NXT talent have been told as of this weekend that their status is still unknown.”

This news might not come as a surprise to hardcore WWE fans given that Carmelo Hayes already had a run with the NXT old. Whereas, Ilja Dragunov is a seasoned veteran, main-eventing the NXT brand on numerous occasions. WWE has also been teasing the likes of NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez making her way to the RAW. She even made an appearance at the weekly live event recently. However, there is still no news on whether the WWE will continue to develop Perez’s heel persona on NXT TV before she is added to the main roster.

Other names that are also in the discussion for a call-up to the main roster include Baron Corbin and the Tony D’Angelo Family. The rumours of Corbin’s move to the main roster have arisen due to his unclear future with the NXT brand after his former partner Bron Breakker recently left the brand to compete full-time on WWE SmackDown.
As per Wrestleview, the report also specifies that CW and Netflix will also have a say in draft-related decisions. The two brands are planning some upcoming deals for NXT and RAW. As per the same report, a source pointed out that, “the Netflix deal is closer to next year’s draft than this year’s. Further information has been provided in that report by Sean Ross Sapp who has stated that the WWE Draft’s dates are intentional since the 2024 NFL Draft would also be taking place the same week.
As for the latest NXT developments, the WWE universe recently witnessed the Final Testament and Viking Raider appear on the show. In that episode, they ambushed the new tag-team champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Viking Raider Ivar was spotted on the show as he confronted North American Champion Oba Femi.
