Microsoft Delays Launch Of Its ‘Scary’ Windows 11 Recall Feature For AI PCs: Here’s The Reason

Microsoft has decided to postpone the availability of its new AI feature called Recall. The company is poised to roll out with the new Copilot Plus PCs in the next few months, but recall won’t be offered on them from day one.

Microsoft has probably decided to pull its release to fix on the scary concerns regarding the AI feature that is able to record all your activities on these PCs to upgrade the search experience with more data under its wing.

So, it has decided to fix these security concerns by testing it with the Windows Insider program. “We are adjusting the release model for Recall to leverage the expertise of the Windows Insider community to ensure the experience meets our high standards for quality and security,” Microsoft has said in a new post.

The company has faced a lot of criticism for the feature which is able to screenshot everything you do on a Copilot + PC that will be slowly making their way to the market.

The new development comes a few days after it was mentioned that Recall will not be enabled by default and users who wish to use the feature can do so by changing the settings. “If you don’t proactively choose to turn it on, it will be off by default,” Pavan Davuluri, who heads Microsoft’s Windows and Surface devices division.

This update suggests Microsoft is finding it hard to fix the issues with Recall before the new Copilot Plus PCs make their way to the market over the next few weeks. It is the best decision that Microsoft could take, rather than face more disasters in the public which has a direct impact on its AI ambitions and business as a whole.
