Huawei has introduced the satellite connectivity feature in its latest flagship smartphone, the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra. But that’s not the interesting part, since Apple already offers this tech with iPhones. Huawei is using this satellite connectivity to let users send images via the Changlian app. Pura 70 Ultra has become the second smartphone from the company that is made by an in-house processor, which is produced in China itself.

The Changlian app is currently available for some selected Huawei smartphones on the Huawei App Market. Even though the Pura 70 Ultra is not the first smartphone to feature the satellite connectivity feature, it is definitely the first phone to allow users to send images via this feature.

This will help the users send images to their contacts during an emergency. Huawei first introduced the satellite connectivity feature with the Mate 50 series. Earlier, the Mate 50 Series allowed users to just send short messages via the BeiDou satellite network. Later, they added the audio calling feature to the Mate 60 Pro, which was launched last year.

As per reports, it has been found that this feature will be enabled with lower network bandwidth, which will result in the images being compressed and looking blurry. Other than Huawei, Google has also announced recently that it will be launching its satellite connectivity in the new Pixel 9 series, which is all set to launch in the second half of 2024.

Apple has been offering emergency satellite communication to its users since the iPhone 14 series. But Apply only permits users to send text messages and share their live location using this feature. This has been one of the highlights of iOS.

Talking about the features of the Pura 70 Ultra, the smartphone comes with a robust Kirin 9010 chipset and is supported by a 5,200mAh battery with both 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. In terms of its camera abilities, the smartphone has been equipped with a unique mechanically rotating telescopic lens on a one-inch, 50-megapixel main sensor, which enhances the image clarity and the quality of the image at high zoom levels.
