Google has announced that it is introducing new AI-powered functions to its Workspace business suite. These new AI functions will give new abilities to the Workspace accounts. Google will also be introducing paid add-ons for its users at $10 per month.

Among the new AI-powered features, Google has also launched Google Vids, which is an AI-based video creation application within its Workspace suite. This new application will be included in cloud-native solutions like Docs, Sheets, and Slides. With the launch of Vids, Google aims to make the process of video creation easy for businesses using Google Workspace.

With the launch of Vids, Google has claimed that it is designed to enhance the way storytelling is done at work. Some of the instances explained by Google include the fact that it can be used by HR to introduce a new employee to the company culture. It can also be used by departments to equip employees with training materials. Another place where it can be used is by sales professionals during their pitches and when engaging their clients.

Google has revealed that their Vids application would just require some basic information and instructions that are needed to be showcased in the video. Users can also choose a specific type of style that will be given in the list of templates. Vids users will also get the feature of adding voice-overs to the videos, making them easy to understand.

There is also an option to collaborate and share the video with others to make changes on the fly. In the end, users will just have to hit the 'create' button, and their video will be created. Google Vids will be a video creation platform that will enable users to generate storyboards, compile a collection of stock videos and images, and more, all with the use of a simple interface.

It will be a very cost-effective and time- and resource-saving feature for many small businesses without the requirement of expensive equipment or specialised skills. Google has also announced that it is expected to release in June 2024 and will have no need for a paid add-on.
