Google Pixel users have been enjoying some of the AI-powered editing features over the last year or so. Now, the company is offering all of these features to everyone and that too for free. That’s right, if you rely on Google Photos to store your photos and videos on your phone, Google will offer its AI-based photo editing features.

Google Photos AI Features: What Do I Need?

The only requirement Google has for these features to run is that you should have an Android phone with version 8.0 or higher, and for iPhone users, iOS 15 version or later. The list of compatible devices also includes the Pixel Tablet and the hardware just needs a minimum of 3GB RAM to get features like Magic Eraser, HDR Effect and Cinematic photos among others.

Google started offering these features with the Pixel 6 series a few years back, and later made it available to iPhone users who paid for Google One subscription. Pixel users were able to use the AI features for free.

But offering these AI editing features to all mobile devices for free will most likely tempt more people to start using Google Photos. We expect Google to push a new update for the Google Photos app that should introduce/unlock these AI editing features to all the users in the coming weeks.

Google Photos AI Features Coming To All Mobile Users For Free: Full List

– Magic Eraser

– HDR effect for photos and video

– Cinematic photos

– Portrait blur

– Color pop

– Styles in collage editor

– Video effects

– Portrait light

Google unveiled the Magic Eraser feature initially for the Pixel 6 lineup, which allows users to remove unwanted objects or distractions from their photos easily. The feature can detect photobombers or power lines and erase them with just a few taps. Additionally, users can circle or brush any other objects they want to eliminate, and Magic Eraser will remove them too.
