Google has finally introduced a highly anticipated feature for all Android users: the ability to download two apps simultaneously from the Play Store. This update eliminates the need to wait for apps to download one by one, significantly improving efficiency.
According to 9toGoogle, this feature is currently limited to new downloads and only supports two apps simultaneously. If a user attempts to download more than two apps at once, the additional downloads will be queued until one of the initial two apps is installed.
In contrast, the Apple App Store for iOS devices can download three apps simultaneously, as reported by 9to5Google. Additionally, the two-app download feature does not extend to application updates at this time.
The new update could be seen on several Pixel phones and tablets running on Android 14 with version 40.6.31. It is also reported that Google might allow more than two downloads in the future.
However, more new features are expected from the Tech Giant in the upcoming Google Developers Conference, Google I/O, which is scheduled for May 14th. Reportedly, Google will be announcing new products like a new Pixel series smartphone and features related to Maps, Search, Android and also updates regarding their Artificial Intelligence bot Gemini.
Several reports suggest that the upcoming Android 15 from Google, which is called vanilla ice cream, will be coming with a Find My Device feature, just like Apple, that would allow all users to detect their smartphones in cases of theft or misplacement, even if the device is switched off.
Also, reportedly it will come with a Sensitive Notification feature in which the device prevents harmful apps from automatically reading One-time-passwords (OTPs).
