With Google I/O 2024 just around the corner, anticipation is building for the expected announcement of the Pixel 8a smartphone. Recent leaks, including renders and real-world photos, have been circulating online, and now purported marketing images have surfaced, giving us a glimpse of what to expect.

According to reports from Android Headlines, the leaked Pixel 8a images reveal four colour options: Black, Porcelain, Blue and a bright Green. While Google introduced a subtle Mint colour in the Pixel 8 earlier this year, the Green variant in the leaked images appears to have a darker shade.

Google Pixel 8a Features Expected

The Pixel 8a is rumoured to feature a 6.1-inch display, similar to its predecessor. However, it's still uncertain whether the refresh rate will be 90Hz or 120Hz. The phone is expected to have thicker bezels compared to the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, especially at the bottom. It will be powered by Google's Tensor G3 chip, similar to last year's flagship devices from the tech giant.

Design-wise, the Pixel 8a closely resembles the Pixel 8, with the vibrant Green variant adding a refreshing touch. Previous leaks have suggested that the Pixel 8a will be a compact smartphone, sporting a 6.1-inch display, this time with a 120Hz OLED panel – an upgrade from the 90Hz panel on the Pixel 7a.

However, the phone's design might be a little different as the Pixel 8 Pro or Pixel 8 will reportedly feature a noticeable chin at the bottom of the display. The rear camera setup is expected to include a dual-camera configuration, possibly with a 64 MP primary sensor and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

Google Pixel 8a Price In India Leaked

Like other Pixel 8 series smartphones, the Pixel 8a will be powered by the Tensor G3 processor and is likely to offer 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage on the base variant. Additionally, there are indications that the Pixel 8a could be the first A-series smartphone from Google to offer a 256 GB variant.

However, reports also suggest that the Pixel 8a could be the last smartphone in its series, as the Pixel 9 lineup is rumoured to include only the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 XL, each featuring a different-sized display. In India, the Pixel 8a is expected to be priced around Rs 50,000 at launch which will be higher than the previous Pixel a-series iterations in the country.
