Android Smartphones Support Gesture Navigation: Here's How You Can Enable It

admin admin | 05-19 00:02

While using an Android smartphone, it is essential to understand how easily one can move between apps and settings. Many users are comfortable using the conventional three-button navigation. But with new developments in the tech world, there has been an addition of gesture navigation on Android-based phones. Talking about the three-button gesture, they have been here for a long time.

These buttons are typically arranged linearly at the bottom of your screen. Pressing the back button takes you to the previous screen, while the home button lands you on the home screen. The recent apps button displays all the recently opened apps. On the other hand, gesture navigation is a smoother and more efficient way of navigating through the phone. Users can easily navigate through the screens of their phones, providing a more immersive experience. Here's a look at how users can enable gesture navigation on Android phones:

How to Set Up gesture navigation on Android Phones

– Go to the Settings on the Android phone

– Click on System' and then 'Gestures' and then 'System Navigation'.

– Once the users go to system navigation, they will have three options to choose from:

Gesture navigation: This feature has no buttons.

Button Navigation: This feature will have two buttons for Home and Back.

Button Navigation: This feature will have three buttons for Home, Back, and App Overview.

Once the gesture navigation has been selected, users can freely move around the phone, swiping through different apps.

Three-button navigation vs. gesture navigation: Which one to choose?

Choosing between three-button navigation and gesture navigation mostly depends on the choice of the users. If the users have a large screen, then using gesture navigation would be better than moving through the three buttons. In terms of speed, if the user requires fast navigation and multitasking, gestures might be a better option than three-button navigation.

However, if someone has a more deliberate approach, they can go for three-button navigation. If a user is into gaming, then gesture navigation would be a better option for them to move through the applications.
