Iran President Ebrahim Raisi issued a staunch warning stating that any action that goes against Iran’s interests would be met with an extensive and severe response against all the parties involved.

Raisi discussed the issue over a phone call with Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh following Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Israel that snowballed into a full-fledged war, reported by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

During the call, Raisi highlighted recent regional developments and emphasised the ongoing plight of Palestinians in Gaza. He also stressed the urgent need for effective measures to halt Israel’s action in the war-torn region.

The Iranian President also underlined the need for Islamic countries to take deterrent measures against the continuation of Israel’s crimes in Gaza.

He also criticised the support being extended to Israel by the US and some Western countries.

The Iranian leader, during his conversation, also denounced the terrorist attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus as a desperate act that resulted from Israel’s failure and slammed the UN and the Security Council for failing to condemn the consulate attack.

He emphasised Iran’s right to legitimate defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter and stressed the necessity of taking deterrent actions against Israel’s ongoing crimes, particularly by Islamic nations

In response, Emir Hamad Al Thani reiterated the strong ties between Iran and Qatar and praised their mutual support. He also commended Qatar for condemning Israel’s attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus and for showing solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

The leader further pointed out that the world is currently witnessing an unprecedented level of global and popular support for the Palestinian cause, and that the Israeli government is trying to divert attention from its crimes by creating tension in Gaza.

Notably, Israel’s war cabinet will meet to deliberate on its reaction to Iran’s drone and missile assault on Tuesday.
