Donald Trump called US President Joe Biden a “total moron” and said that he is worse than the 10 worst former presidents combined while addressing a rally Saturday in Florida’s New Jersey.

“You could take the 10 worst presidents in the history of our country, and add them up and they haven’t done the damage to our country that this total moron has done. He’s a fool, he’s not a smart man. He never was,” Trump told his supporters in Wildwood.

“He was considered stupid. I talk about him differently now because now, the gloves are off. He’s a bad guy. He’s the worst president ever, of any country. The whole world is laughing at him, he’s a fool,” he further added.

He blamed Joe Biden for his legal troubles as well. “You don’t do that to your opponents. It’s done in third-world countries, it’s done in banana republics, it’s not done in the United States of America,” he said.

At least 80,000 to 100,000 supporters of Trump attended the rally where the former president recited a 1963 soul song in its entirety and referenced a fictional cannibal as “great”.

Lisa Fagan, spokesperson for the city of Wildwood, told The Associated Press that she estimated a crowd of between 80,000 and 100,000 attendees, based on her own observations.

In a meandering recitation of “The Snake” during a more than 90 minute speech, Trump used the Oscar Brown song to draw a parallel with “illegal immigration and how stupid it is what we’re doing right now.”

“We’re letting people come into our country that we will only be trouble,” said the Republican contender for president.

He was joined on stage by other high-profile supporters. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor joined him on stage. Taylor, the sportsperson, is registered sex offender after pleading guilty in New York in 2011 to misdemeanour criminal charges of sexual misconduct and patronising an underage prostitute.

“The late, great Hannibal Lecter is a wonderful man,” Trump said, referencing the 1991 film “Silence of the Lambs.”

“He oftentimes would have a friend for dinner,” he said as he smiled and repeated an often-told joke about the infamous cannibal character before diving back into migration.

“But Hannibal Lecter. Congratulations, the late, great Hannibal Lecter. We have people that are being released into our country that we don’t want in our country,” he said.
