Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah on Friday in a televised address said Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must expect more “surprises” as fighting rages along the Lebanese-Israeli border. “The resistance surprised you on October 8 … You should expect more surprises,” Nasrallah said.

Earlier this week, Netanyahu told soldiers in northern Israel as he was visiting the army’s Northern Command headquarters that Tel Aviv has drafted “detailed, important, even surprising plans” for dealing with Hezbollah.

“But I don’t share these plans with the enemy,” he said. He said that he had two objectives: to restore security in northern Israel in the areas along the border with Lebanon, and to enable those displaced to return home.

Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah mocked Israel's threat of an operation against Lebanon:(Against Israeli Minister Ben Gvir, who said, "Let's enter Lebanon; let's reach the Litani River.")

"Habibi, with which army will you enter Lebanon? Have you finished Gaza yet?" he said. pic.twitter.com/7etwVAZEhb

“Netanyahu is heading for a dead end and is leading the opposing front to a historic and significant victory. Neither your deception nor the pressures of your masters will help you, and this resistance will continue,” Nasrallah said.

“We have always been transparent about the fact that when we go into battle, we have clear objectives, and we have said that our first objective is to support Gaza and that the second is to prevent any aggression against Lebanon,” he further added.

“Netanyahu wants people to believe that he knows how to wield psychological warfare. But even in Israel, former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said to him: ‘Habibi, with what army do you plan to go to South Lebanon?'” Hezbollah’s number one said in an apparent jibe, according to L’Orient.

The Hezbollah militant group in support of the Hamas militant group in Palestine and following its October 7 terrorist attack which killed over 1,200 Israeli civilians, opened a new front of war with Israel, carrying out sporadic attacks on Israeli military installations which lie south of Lebanon.

Following Israeli army retaliatory offensive in Gaza, which has killed at least 35,903 people in Gaza, Hezbollah has said that it will continue attacking Israeli army in support of Hamas and Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has been exchanging near-daily cross-border fire with the Israeli army since.

The exchanges of fire have killed at least 11 civilians and 14 soldiers in Israel, according to the army.

At least 429 people have been killed in Lebanon, mostly militants but also including at least 82 civilians, according to an AFP tally.
